Granny NANNIES emerged in 1990 when Rob and Kirsten Hodgson, prompted by personal family circumstances, sought dependable and affordable senior home care for Rob's grandmother, Esther Dowding, as she aged in her Winter Park home in Central Florida. This resonated with many families nationwide facing similar challenges, where aging grandparents needed assistance while desiring to stay in their own homes, yet traditional nursing homes weren't feasible. Relocating to Florida to care for Esther, the Hodgsons recognized the scarcity of suitable home care services in the region. Their solution-oriented approach birthed Granny NANNIES of North America, an initiative aiming to provide specialized and compassionate private duty home care services tailored to the unique needs of the elderly, addressing the needs of not just their own family but countless others as well.
